Great Device*** Bad Software

So to be clear I have owned 2 Mightys since 2015, my first one lasted 3 years of Hard abuse , as in dropping banging around.. My second one , I learned my lesson and took care of this one and it lasted 7 years. So now of course we have all seen the new Venty by Storz & Bickel and have heard of the accolades of the improvement in new look, new cooling layout, air flow, battery capacity, accessibility through Bluetooth. For the most part these are all true. I do not use the Bluetooth for some type of privacy. The battery does not last as long as the mighty or mighty +, it lasts for a quite a while just not as long as those 2 anvils. The new cooling top is a leap ahead. Nice cool hits, and when you fill the chamber and lightly pat down the filler it hits very freely with the adjustment wide open.

Now for the bad I bought this 06/26/2024, I filed a RMA with S&B on 08/10/2024. The device has faulty software, S&B knows this and have since its debut. Error codes 04 have plague the company since day 1 but no recalls, no email to owners, no nothing. They promised in April to have a software patch update soon, where you plug it in to your computer to get the update. That was April. I held off purchasing the device, for S&B to have time to resolve the malfunction. I was told the initial lots of Ventys with the bad software had been turned in and the later devices did not have the dreaded Error 04. I mean its software right, you find your fault you code the patch, you send it out for the update. Not so easy apparently.
So after 9 years, 2 devices, of great reliability and ruggedness my faith in Storz Bickel's took a Major hit. Who cares if you quickly send me a replacement, I want the reliability that I have come to expect and that I pay a very high premium to get. Why rush this unit into production without thorough testing, I mean it took you 9 years to come out with it? So to close I would not waste my time to buy the Venty till S&B get their act together and produce a Venty worth the price tag and the expectation of quality that their customers have come to expect from Storz & Bickel.
